Treatment Methods

Dr. Reich's or Dr. Solomon's practice provides a variety of surgical services. We pride ourselves on the fact that we are very conservative in our treatment recommendations and limit surgery to the areas where it is absolutely necessary. This is because for most patients periodontal disease is site specific and does not involve every tooth.

Many times, the early stages of periodontal disease are best treated with non-surgical periodontal therapy. With traditional periodontal treatment, non-surgical periodontal therapy (i.e. scaling and root planing) often precedes surgical therapy. This is done to improve the overall tissue quality prior to surgery and also to help limit the areas requiring surgery.

For patient having LANAP treatment, there is no treatment (i.e. scaling and root planing) performed in advance. This saves time and is more comfortable for patients, since all treatment is rendered at the same time.
