Why Replacing Missing Teeth Is Important

Missing teeth lead to more than just cosmetic concerns. Over time, gaps in your smile can cause:

  • Shifting of surrounding teeth, leading to misalignment and bite problems.
  • Bone loss in the jaw, as the lack of stimulation from natural tooth roots causes the bone to shrink.
  • Difficulty in chewing and speaking, affecting overall quality of life.
  • Increased risk of gum disease and further tooth loss.

By replacing missing teeth promptly, you can preserve your jawbone, maintain alignment, and restore full functionality.

Tooth Replacement Options

We offer a variety of tooth replacement solutions to suit different needs, budgets, and lifestyles.

1. Fixed Dental Bridge

A fixed bridge is a set of connected replacement teeth that are cemented onto the adjacent natural teeth. This solution:

✔ Replaces one or more missing teeth.

✔ Requires shaving down neighboring teeth to serve as anchors.

✔ Offers a natural look and feel but may require replacement after several years.

2. Partial Denture (Flipper or Metal Partial)

  • Flipper: A temporary, affordable, and lightweight removable plastic denture that holds a replacement tooth.
  • Metal Partial: A more durable option with a metal framework that clasps onto existing teeth.

While removable dentures restore function, they do not prevent jawbone loss and may require adjustments over time.

3. Full Dentures (Complete Removable Dentures)

  • A common solution for individuals missing all teeth in an arch.
  • May require adhesives for stability and can affect chewing efficiency.
  • Can cause bone resorption over time, leading to denture fit changes.

4. Dental Implants (The Gold Standard)

Dental implants are the most advanced, long-lasting tooth replacement solution. They:

be used for single tooth replacement, multiple teeth replacement, or full-arch restorations.

Implants can be used for single tooth replacement, multiple teeth replacement, or full-arch restorations.

Dental Implant Procedure: Step-by-Step

1. Consultation & Treatment Planning

Dr. Daniel Reich will evaluate your jawbone health, oral condition, and medical history using digital X-rays and 3D imaging.

2. Surgical Placement of the Implant

  • A biocompatible titanium post is inserted into the jawbone to act as a new root.
  • Healing time varies from 3-6 months, during which osseointegration (bone fusion) occurs.

3. Abutment & Crown Placement

  • A custom abutment (connector piece) is attached to the implant.

A natural-looking dental crown is securely placed, completing your new tooth.
